About Somos La Voz
Somos La Voz is one of the newest and fastest growing programs of Via International. Somos La Voz offers FREE and culturally-responsive art and music programming led by teaching artists to Chicano and Mexican youth aged 12-26 in San Diego. Classes culminate in live youth-led pop-up events/performances that are open to the public. Somos La Voz empowers participating young people to access their artistic voice and leadership potential while bridging generational divides and offering a safe space for self-expression and creativity. Through this program, we celebrate Mexican and Chicano cultural heritage and bring the art and music of participating youth and teaching artists to the general public of San Diego through the pop-up events.
