Community Development Spotlight:
Via Minnesota is growing!
This year, Via International celebrates the successful launch of community development initiatives in the United States through the establishment of Via Minnesota. Via Promotoras from Mexico facilitated a three-day training for immigrant women in nutrition and ecology, community organizing and leadership, and micro-credit and microenterprise development at the Northwest Integration School District's Brooklyn Center. Other ongoing intiatives include the establishment of a successful community garden and a launch event for the publication of a new book featuring a collection of immigrant interviews by Attorney Laura Danielson called "Green Card Stories."
